Get to Know the Family Behind The Woks of Life in New Digital Series, Family Meal
Say hello to the Leungs!

Any family who’s cooked a meal together will tell you it’s not always smooth sailing. And a family who cooks together regularly – and runs a wildly successful food blog? Well, it’s like navigating the ocean blue.
Get a peek into the lives of a family that does just that, and more, in a new Food Network Digital Original series, Family Meal. The docuseries follows the Leung family, comprised of Sarah, her sister Kaitlin, and parents Bill and Judy, a.k.a. the cooks behind Chinese-American food blog, The Woks of Life.
Everyone has their own idea of what the best part of Thanksgiving dinner may be. Some may be traditionalists and all about the turkey, while someone else may be more focused on the sides and be excited about the sweet potatoes or the cranberry sauce. And then there’s those who are simply focused on dessert and want their pumpkin pie.

The Woks of Life is much more than a blog though. What started as a project during a period of unemployment for Sarah has evolved into a thriving online community that redefined her family and the way they are keeping their heritage alive. It’s a space where the Leungs test traditional Chinese recipes, and share their tips, tricks and best practices with their fast-growing audience. It’s a space where they cook, work, laugh and spend time together, all while learning more about themselves and each other.
The Leung family is busy. Between continuing to “feed the beast,” writing a cookbook manuscript due in the spring and juggling their own personal lives (Sarah has a wedding to plan!), this three-episode series shows us what it takes to run a family business, while keeping family matters, well, family matters. Get to know the Leungs (and all the delicious dishes they make) on Family Meal here every Tuesday, starting December 7.
