Fans of Halloween Wars and Halloween Baking Championship already know that the sky’s the limit when it comes to making a Halloween dessert that’s both terrifying and tasty. Need an example? Just check out this ultra-realistic Strawberry Cheesecake Brain or this bubbling Cauldron Cake. While we’ll always be big fans of impressive creations like these, there’s actually an easier way to add some Halloween charm to all your sweet treats. In fact, we’d be so bold as to say that all it really takes is a package of sugar eyeballs. Here are six hilarious and bootiful ways to get all the eyes on your dessert table this October.

Matcha Monster Meringues (pictured above)

The hardest thing about putting these bewitching monster meringues together is waiting for them to dry out completely before decorating them. If you haven’t baked with green tea powder before, follow recipe developer Khalil Hymore’s advice and use ceremonial grade matcha to coat your twisty-turny treats; doing so gives the meringues a subtle earthiness that acts as a nice counterbalance to their overall sweetness. And don’t forget your jumbo eyeball decorations — they’ll cause everyone to stop and stare at your spread.

Chocolate-y hot cocoa isn’t just a Christmas thing — in fact, some brands even have pumpkin spice-flavored mixes currently available for purchase, so it’s totally acceptable to sip on year-round! We’ll do you one better with this DIY hot cocoa bomb recipe. Though you’ll use store-bought hot chocolate mix to fill your handmade tempered chocolate orbs, you’ll still have more than enough opportunities to customize what else goes inside — like sugary candy spiders and ghosts, crunchy chocolate sprinkles and cozy pumpkin spice marshmallows — and how you decorate them on the outside. Though two sugar eyeballs are more than enough to adorn the shells of your hot cocoa bomb, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with covering the whole thing in candy eyeballs of all shapes and sizes. Boo-uty is in the eye of the beholder after all...

We never thought we’d willingly find ourselves running towards a monster instead of away from one, but these googly-eyed sandwich creatures are just too charming to pass by. The yummy filling is made from a surprising combo of smooth almond butter, vanilla extract, heavy cream and chopped semisweet chocolate to give you a mixture that’s both nutty and chocolate-y without being too overly sweet. Pack some up in festive printed tupperware containers to deliver to your fav ghouls during the day or prepare a big tray for your wolf pack to enjoy after a night of trick-or-treating.

These eerie-sistible chocolate chip cookies are monster-sized and monster-themed to give you a Halloween treat that’s well-worth baking again next year. Though you’ll use some traditional cookie ingredients to make these jumbo rounds — like unsalted butter, sugar and flour — what really makes them unique is their inclusion of fun add-ins like old-fashioned oats, M&M candies, chopped pecans, Halloween sprinkles and you guessed it — candy eyeballs!

Everyone will be doing a rendition of the monster mash when they wrap their claws around one of these adorable big-eyed cereal treats. From their bright purple hue to their fruity blueberry flavor, they’re the perfect Halloween bite. Recipe developer Melissa Gaman uses grounded-up freeze-dried blueberries twice in this recipe — once to flavor the marshmallow and rice cereal mixture, and again later to act as the monster’s wispy hair. If blueberry isn’t your thing, freeze-dried raspberries and strawberries work just as nicely.

Okay, okay, so we know we already included a matcha-based recipe in this round-up, but this Matcha Monster Bundt Cake is equally fang-tastic so we just had to include it too. Molly Yeh incorporates a lot of fun ingredients to make her delicious cake batter, including freshly brewed coffee, semisweet chocolate, cocoa powder and coconut milk. White chocolate and cooking grade matcha are at the heart of the ganache and candy eyeballs bring the entire thing together. The cake is also super-moist and spongy, so go ahead and dip a slice into your favorite caffeinated drink or one of these Frankenshakes and Bride of Frankenshakes.
